La Gallo Nero 2025: two wheels, heart and Chianti Classico

In the heart of Chianti Classico, among golden vineyards and picture-perfect villages, passion rides on two wheels. La Gallo Nero is back – the official cycling event created by Chianti Classico Company, and the 2025 edition promises to be richer and more captivating than ever. Set during harvest season, this is when the Chianti hills are at their vibrant best.

Two routes, two philosophies

Participants can choose beween two routes: The “Cosimo III” (60 km), ideal for those looking for a more relaxed ride, and the “Gallo Nero” (133 km), feauturing two timed segments for those who want a challenge. These include the Luiano Hill cLimb (4 km) and the brand new “Canaglia climb” (3 km from Sambuca to San Donato in poggio) – < ztreach as tough as its name suggests.

Food stops and Wine tasting

Gourmet rest stops a a signature part of the event, each one offering a traditional Tuscan dish paired with a glass of Chianti Classico served, of course, in a proper wine glass. At the finish line, riders can enjoy a celebratory meal featuring local specialties and the now-iconic “Housewifes’ ragù” from Radda.

A race pack to remember

Every participant receives a bottle of Chianti Classico, the official oure cotton t-shirtfeaturing the Gallo Nero logo, plus a selection of gadgets – a true souvenir of an unforgettable day.

Prizes and Top-tier partnership

Top finishers in the timed segments will be awarded bottles in a special formats and sportswear items from the official Gallo Nero collection. Organized by sport Angels with Ciclistica Grevigiana, the event is supported by Willer Triestina, ChiantiBanca, and several quality consortia. Equally vital ia the help of local volunteer associations, wich give the event it’s authentic, community-driven character.

Registration now open, you can register with the official jersey included for 50 euro until August 25, or opt for a basic package at 35 euro. From August 26, a single rate of 40 euro applies, rising to 45 euro if you sign up on-site during the event weekend in Radda.
