SIPARIO! The Boito Theater lights up the new cultural season in Greve in Chianti.

In Greve in Chianti, there are places that become part of our collective memory—spaces you don’t need to look for because they’ve always been there, shaping moments, seasons, and stories. The Arrigo Boito Theatre s one of them. For nearly a century it has been a familiar heartbeat in the center of town, a place where people meet to laugh, reflect, and be moved.

As it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2026,the Boito opens a new season with an invitation: step inside, take your seat, let yourself be surprised.
Experience an evening where culture blends naturally with the spirit of the Chianti region.

The “Time of Care”: A Programme for All Generations

This year’s programme is the result of the combined vision of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Greve in Chianti and the San Michele GEV Group.

Councillor Monica Toniazzi describes the season as a path dedicated to people—their desires, creativity, and the shared need to reconnect. “If I had to summarise it,” she says, “this would be a Boito 0–99 season: shows for every age, with a special focus on children and young people. Our theatre is a space that sparks imagination, opens dialogue, and cultivates dreams and trust.”

This is the guiding thread of the entire season: care.. Care for relationships, for artistic voices, for stories that need to be told. Care for culture as a shared good, a moment of growth and a source of hope.

Eleven Shows, Eleven Worlds of Emotion

The 2025–2026 schedule is a varied journey through comedy, civil theatre, classical drama, contemporary circus, storytelling, and live music.

A programme that balances playfulness with depth, weaving together memory and modern creativity.

A Theatre That Belongs to the Chianti Community

Built in 1926 with a traditional Italian horseshoe layout and 299 seats, the Boito Theatre is more than a cultural venue: it’s a piece of Greve’s identity.

The Ferruzzi family has been part of its history since 1938, nurturing it through film screenings, premières, and theatrical seasons that have shaped generations.

Today, it remains a cultural home for residents and a discovery for visitors who want to experience the authentic soul of Chianti.
