From September 25 to 27, the village of Montefioralle celebrates wine, its producers and the territory once again, with tastings, meetings with winemakers and a special tasting dedicated to the 2020 vintage.

For three days, Chianti Classico will once again take center stage within the walls of one of the most charming villages in the area.

From Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27, Montefioralle Divino returns to the historic village of Greve in Chianti. The wine festival, organised by the Associazione Viticoltori di Montefioralle, brings together the wines produced on the surrounding hills in the heart of the medieval village.

From 11 am to 7 pm, Piazza Santo Stefano will become an open-air tasting area where visitors can meet producers, discover their stories and taste different expressions of Chianti Classico, from Annata to Riserva and Gran Selezione.

Wine told through its territory

The idea behind Montefioralle Divino is also to explore the wines through the territory where they are produced, comparing wines from the same area and discovering the differences and similarities created by altitude, exposure, soils and the individual approach of each winemaker.

It is a journey through the territory in a wine glass, made even more special by the setting of Montefioralle, a medieval village enclosed within its ancient walls and surrounded by the vineyards of Chianti Classico.

The relationship between wine and place is one of the festival’s distinctive features: within just a few steps, visitors can move from one producer to another and discover how differently the same territory can be interpreted.

The 2020 vintage takes centre stage

One of the highlights of the 2026 edition will be a horizontal tasting dedicated to the 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva and Gran Selezione wines produced by the Viticoltori di Montefioralle.

The tasting will take place on Sunday, September 27 at 11.30 am, with a second session at 2.30 pm, led by Clizia Zuin, Head Sommelier and Wine Buyer at Atto di Vito Mollica at Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence, a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Zuin, who is responsible for a cellar of around 850 labels with a particular focus on Tuscany, was also named Best Sommelier in the 2026 Gambero Rosso Restaurant Guide.

Six years after the harvest, the tasting will offer an opportunity to compare different expressions of the same vintage and territory, focusing on two of the denomination’s most important categories.

From wine to food

Montefioralle Divino will also be an opportunity to experience the village through its food.

Novecento will have a food stand in Piazza Santo Stefano, while visitors will also find culinary offerings from the Bar-Circolo di Montefioralle and local restaurants Il Desio, Il Guerrino and La Castellana.

Throughout the festival, visitors can freely explore the producers’ stands, meet the winemakers, taste their wines and purchase bottles directly from the wineries.

The tasting glass costs €25, reduced to €20 for online purchases through the Associazione Viticoltori di Montefioralle website.

The event will take place in all weather conditions, with covered areas provided for the producers’ stands.

A free shuttle service from Greve in Chianti

To make access to the village easier, given the limited parking available, a free shuttle bus service will operate on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, from 11 am to 7 pm, connecting Piazza Trento in Greve in Chianti with Montefioralle.

A simple way to reach the festival and enjoy the day without having to worry about parking.
