On October 4th and 5th, Gaiole in Chianti will welcome the 28th edition of “L’Eroica,” the cycling event that each year attracts thousands of enthusiasts from around the world. For two days, the village will become the nerve center of an event that blends sport, tradition, and conviviality, transforming into a unique stage to celebrate the timeless charm of classic cycling.

“L’Eroica” was born in 1997, conceived by Giancarlo Brocci with the aim of highlighting the Chianti white gravel roads, keepers of the memory of heroic cycling. The idea was simple yet powerful: to transform the memory of past races—ridden on steel bicycles and in wool jerseys—into a lived experience, where every participant could engage with the challenge, the beauty of the landscape, and the spirit of a community. Since then, the event has drawn cyclists from all over the world, turning Chianti into a stage where history, sport, and culture intertwine.

The 2025 program promises, as always, a rich and varied itinerary: hundreds of kilometers of routes, from the shorter and more accessible to the most demanding, will wind through the famous white roads of the Chianti Classico, surrounded by vineyards, farmhouses, and hills that embody the essence of the Tuscan landscape. These dusty, ancient paths tell centuries of rural history, once traveled by carts and farmers, and today still retain the charm of an era where effort and the beauty of the journey were inseparable. Every start and finish will mark a festive moment, with refreshment points, meetings, and tastings that make the experience even more engaging.

The traditional “Eroica Village” in Gaiole will be present as always, featuring food and wine stalls, markets, live music, and exhibitions dedicated to the world of cycling. The village squares and streets will come alive with visitors, tourists, and the curious, transforming the town into a vibrant meeting point where sport and culture intersect in an atmosphere blending passion and nostalgia. The event evokes the races of the past, when bicycles were instruments of effort but also of elegance, and cyclists faced the white roads with courage and style.

“L’Eroica” is not only a test of endurance but also an opportunity to rediscover the value of slowness, sharing, and deep connection with the territory: an event that unites experienced cyclists and novices, sports history enthusiasts, and travelers drawn by the beauty of Chianti, where every bend and vineyard seems to tell stories of generations gone by.

On October 4th and 5th, Gaiole in Chianti will once again become the protagonist of a two-day event that is much more than a race: a collective celebration honoring heroic cycling, Chianti’s cultural and landscape heritage, and the passion of those who continue to keep the memory of an unforgettable era alive.
