– Can you tell us briefly about how the Polysport was born and when it was born?
The New Polisportiva Chianti is a project that was born in February 2024 from the passion of a group of friends, for whom sport has never been just physical activity, but has always been an element of fun and unity. The main impetus for the birth of the association came from the passion that most united us, which was running. In fact, we felt the lack of a point of reference in the Grevigiano area, which would allow anyone to practice this sport, participate in competitions and train in company.
– What is the main goal of your multi-sport club and what are the values you try to convey to your members and the community?
We decided to establish a multi-sport with the intention of not limiting ourselves to running only, but to broaden the spectrum of our possibilities by also organizing activities that are accessible to as many people as possible by including people of all ages and sporting levels.
The main goal is to create a community that revolves around the world of running and walking, representing that landmark that has been missing in Greve in Chianti.
The values on which the association is based are social gathering, physical and mental well-being, fun and a dash of healthy competition.
– With the evolution of sports and its impacts on the community, how do you see the role of polysports in promoting positive values such as solidarity, physical well-being and inclusiveness?
Polisportiva aims to promote all those values that make sports increasingly important within a community and in everyone’s life. Therefore, we strive to create an environment that is as inclusive as possible by offering activities that can involve the entire citizenry and that are affordable for everyone, even in economic terms.
– What sports disciplines does your sports club offer and how do they differ from each other? Are there activities for all ages or for specific groups?
As a multi-sport organization, we offer a wide range of sports opportunities, including mainly: running, walking and hiking, soccer, tournaments, and games such as table tennis and darts.
Thus there are both activities for everyone and for a more specific target audience.
– Appointments not to be missed in the coming months?
The polysports calendar offers a series of walks in our beautiful area, both daytime and evening. These are then joined by running workouts in company, held on a weekly basis.
With the warm season just around the corner, we will then reintroduce table tennis, foosball and darts tournaments, in the name of fun and light-heartedness.
Inevitable, finally, is the appointment with the Denmark’s Cup, a summer soccer tournament that attracts the attention of so many people, even of different generations.
We advise readers to follow us on our social pages to stay up to date with the events of the polysports club.
